I just heard a powerful message from Pastor Sam Surendran of Excel Point Community Church of Penang. Matthew 8: 4-13. A sentence that spoke volume to me is this – “Let your words be your servants”. I am pondering this sentence and allowing it to sink deeper into my revelation basket.
What I say must serve me and not work against me! This Centurion understood authority. He knew how to submit to the authority above him and he confidently exercised his authority over those who served under him. The Centurion applied the same principle over the spiritual law of God. He embraced the authority of Jesus over sicknesses. Taking one further step, he declared that all Jesus had to do was to speak healing over his servant from afar, and his servant will be healed. Jesus does not even need to go to his servant to pray for him. What faith! Must be a new paradigm for the disciples who heard the Centurion too.
“I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe.” 2 Corinthians 4:13 (The Message translation). In this hour, let what we say serve us.
In The Passion Translation, 2 Corinthians 4:13 puts it this way: “We have the same Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says, “First I believed, then I spoke in faith.” So we also first believe then speak in faith.” When we are in the same spirit of the Bible, the word of God, and we place our faith in Jesus, His authority and power, the words we speak will activate the same power to change, heal, deliver or shatter ungodly resistance against us.
Our faith must be based on Christ and not just on our own ability or knowledge. Even in affliction, Brother Paul stood and preached from his faith in Christ Jesus. Amidst from all the troubles we are daily hearing in the news, we have only one place and one source to turn to anchor our soul. It has to be on Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand. Everything else will eventually sink.
Let your words be your servants! Time to command and decree with the words of God! Let your words serve what God has purposed for your life. “You don’t know how many people in our future are counting on our breakthrough today.” (Jennifer Eivaz, Co-Pastor at Harvest Chuch) 💕
Prayer :
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that you are my only Lord. I believe in your resurrection power. By Your stripes, I am healed! Through Your blood, I am cleansed! No sickness, fear, guilt, or condemnation can stick to me. No COVID can hang around me! They will be burnt up by Jesus in me and around me! These I believe and I speak in faith in Your name, Lord Jesus. Amen!
