This morning as I stared out of my glass doors, the colourful flowers were staring back at me. It was as if they were shouting at me : “Look at me! I am beautiful!” They were so attractive and cannot be ignored. They were not being boastful but merely being themselves.
Then I hear the Lord saying this : “show off your colors! When you show off who you are and what you carry, others will be refreshed”.
Wow! now that is a revelation to me. I often associate “showing off” with a bad attitude. It has never occurred to me that when I show off who I am and what I carry, others will be refreshed.
What if someone is waiting for an answer or a blessing from Father that He can show off through us? What if the gifts we are carrying is to boast of Him in us? What if showing off our colors is showing Jesus off?
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
The life we now live in this world is Christ living in us. The world needs to see God’s brilliance and His intelligence. This will happen when we are showing off our colors. When we allow Christ in us to be shown and be seen. “And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” It has to be by faith for without faith we cannot please God. ( Hebrews 11:6)
We should stop saying “I can’t do it, I should not, someone will do a better job than I can, what about so and so?” Some time back, I told the Lord that another person is much more suitable than I am for what He is asking me to do. The reply I heard was this: “Are you questioning my choice?” I understand a rebuke from the Lord when I hear one 🤓. It was more a conviction than condemnation to me. I suddenly had this powerful revelation that He is smarter than me! (I am being sarcastic here).
Are you hearing God asking you to step up? Take the promotion, or a new position or step out in faith in your gifts that you have not exercised before? I hear Him saying to you “Show off your colors!” People are waiting to be refreshed by you. As you show off your colors, you are showing Christ in you!
